Here is a neat little tool.

I have not tried it yet since I use Hosted Exchange.

From your phone browse to this address http://www.gmail.com/app

Now download the program for your phone.

My guess is that this will only work on phones with Java enabled

If you have a Palm Treo you will need to do the following.

go to the following link:
http://www.palm.com/us/support/downloads/
select your pphone, your service carrier, and then download the IBM
Java application (Java Virtual Machine), THEN download the Gmail applet.
