That’s pretty nifty. I think that’s exactly what I need for a laptop that doesn’t charge through its power cord

It is neat but unfortunately it will not help your particular problem.
You will either need to buy a new power adapter or the problem could be internal to your laptop. I see this problem ALL the time. It is a common problem.
